Special Needs Parenting: It’s OK To Admit You’re Knackered
I am absolutely knackered. I’ll come on to why but it’s also good to get that out from the start as an excuse for what
I could probably have told you what a dental practice did prior to working on their search engine optimisation, but I hadn’t heard of water jet cutting and had no idea what airspace development involved.
Really, though, this doesn’t matter. As a writer and former journalist I am used to researching topics and then presenting them in a way that explains them to others.
As an SEO expert, the task is essentially the same whatever the business or niche – get the site to rank prominently for relevant topics.
Whatever your business, I can write about it and gain the expertise required to provide an authoritative tone.
Search engine optimisation requires a balance. The pages have to be written in a way that makes them appealing to Google, not falling foul of the all-seeing algorithm.
However, and this is where so many struggle, they also have to be well written and to appeal to humans. The page has to achieve something beyond simply ranking in the search listings.
Hiring an experienced writer pays dividends. If I had to choose which task is the more challenging – writing for Google or writing for humans – I would say the latter. Getting a page to rank is often not all that difficult, making it turn page loads into actions is far harder.
That page on a niche topic – the blog on water jet cutting, or the landing page written to appeal to anyone wanting Invisalign braces – has to inspire some action, whether that is a booking, or a repeat visit in future.
That is why I have so many clients across so many sectors. Let’s chat about your business.
10 Landing Page Examples
The aim of landing pages is to rank for specific keywords – often long tail keywords. The links below are just a few examples from the many hundreds of these pages I have written.
A good landing page needs to appeal both to the search engine but also the human that ends up reading the page. A page that ranks well but doesn’t engage the user is a failure, so too the page that is brilliantly written but doesn’t appear in the search listings.
10 Examples of Blogs For Clients
Writing blog posts for clients is a highly specialised task. The writer may know little, if anything about the topic – I can’t say I was an expert on airspace development (or breast implants for that matter)… Despite this, the author has to produce informative, compelling copy that is written in a style that matches the business’ overall tone of voice.
Some companies want a very formal tone, others something far chattier, humorous even (I have a blog post that delves into the benefits of humour in blogs). The blog author has to be able to write in the desired style rather than seeking to impose their own interpretation.
Can I Help You At All?
Whatever your line of business, I can write compelling copy – the examples listed below prove this, pretty much all topics I knew nothing about prior to starting research.
That’s what I provide – an ability to write on any topic, to produce copy of the standard you would expect from a former senior BBC Journalist.
I would love to help you with your SEO – I can come up with a plan or we can just start with a page or two so you can check I’m right for you.
